Our launch provides the perfect introduction to this years festival with the chance to explore a couple of our main venues and delve into an exhilarating sample of work at your own pace.
Things get going at Oriel Mostyn at 6.30pm where we’ll explore the inside of a hot air balloon and get to hang out with a muttering robot by exploring the work of Kris Martin and Paul Granjon Also at Mostyn an exhibition from the GLITCH team will be opening delivered entirely by 15-25 year olds that promises the added bonus of skateboarding – which sounds potentially dangerous but definitely fun.
We’ll trundle from there along Vaughan Street via some thrilling surprises to ‘Cul-de-Sac’ at Y Stiwdio. Three doors down at 26 and you’ll be at the Freehaus where ten, that’s right TEN artists have been locked in (metaphorically, probably) making work for Llandada – an exhibition inspired by Dadaism that takes over the whole of this vast and cavernous old RAFA club.
The Freehaus will be our home for the rest of the evening where you’ll be treated to performances from Sam Airey, Rachel Mars and Rattle as well as surrealist games and the eclectic variety of art to discover. Bring your mum, pick up your skateboard and say goodbye to the goat – let’s go!
