Joon Dance

Joined by a bridle bit, the way a horse is to its rider, two dancers become one creature, roving around. Occasionally they pause to disagree, each wanting to move in a different direction. They struggle, fighting to take control, then find a way to communicate and collaborate. The image of the creature is surreal and strange, drawing in the audience, but the way in which the dancers have to communicate to find a way to move forward is inherently human and sympathetic. The man and the woman do equal amounts of lifting and carrying and the overall message is of healthy communication and support.
