In his fifth pop -up exhibition at The Studio, 23 Augusta Street, Llandudno, LL30 2AD Emrys Williams presents “Paul Cezanne Painted Mount Snowdon From This Spot”, an exhibition curated by Gordon Dalton
The exhibition uses a fictional visit by Impressionist painter Paul Cezanne to North Wales where he wished to paint Mount Snowdon, but instead decided on painting Mount Provence in Aix (included in National Gallery Wales collection); the premise was used to invite a selection of painters from Wales and UK to Llandudno to explore the landscapes of North Wales and showcase best practice in painting.
The show looks at mythology, hero worship, art history (fact or fictional) and travelling to real and imagined spaces.
